I confess that while I love holiday weeks (extra day off), I hate the policy my company has. I work 4 9 hour days and then a 4 hour day on Fridays. This way I can take care of any errands or make appointments without having to miss work. Well during holiday weeks, it is mandatory to work 8 hour days. This means full work day Fridays and no one likes those. Sure, I am super blessed to work a flexible schedule otherwise, but you get used to the routine that it throws you off.

I confess that I wanted to cancel our trip to the Bay Area this weekend because Tuesday night was hell with the girls. Many tantrums, throwing up from crying so hard, screams at the top of their lungs and complete craziness in our household. I didn't want to deal with that again come Monday after being away all weekend and their schedules getting messed up, nor did I want to deal with crazy toddlers at family functions. But as long as my girls are still behaving by then, we are going to go.

Speaking of going to the Bay Area, I really want to stop at the outlets and/or my favorite stores that I never get to shop at and go crazy on all things summer. I could use some more clothes for work.

I confess that we could use a date night. I think the last one we went on was in April for our friends wedding. I would love a dinner out with my husband free of kids picking stuff off my plate or throwing a tantrum. I love my girls, please don't mistake that. We just need date nights.

I confess that I really hope my bikini is ready by this Friday. My friend ordered one a week before me and she got hers last Saturday. So pretty.
Her bikini, not mine

I confess that I am finally planning my work European trip and I couldn't be happier. This trip has been in the words for a year now and my co-worker and I are finally going. I can't wait to explore more of Europe.

I confess that I wrote a scathing email to Ubbi yesterday after I was so mad about the expensive diaper pail. Here is to hoping they have awesome customer service and want to do something about it. Let's hope!

I confess that I bought some jeans during the Nordstrom sale that were recommended to me and I am praying that they fit. They are in my normal size, but I have never bought this brand. So please fit me and look good. Thank you. They should arrive on my doorstep today.

I confess that I giggle over some of my male co-workers pants. Seriously so many of them wear high waters and it kills me. High water slacks aren't in style.

I confess that my legs are jello after two days of running and one of those included a leg day of weights. I have one more run this week (today) and then rest until next week. The pain feels good and I really missed the way running makes me feel.

And that's all I have for you today. Join in on the link up fun below. See you back tomorrow for Friday Fav's.

  1. Oh no! I'm so sorry about the tantrums and chaos on Tuesday evening. That's not fun and I understand how it is. So exhausting. Fingers crossed that doesn't happen next week. Looking forward to hearing about your weekend trip. The Europe trip sounds great!!

    1. My girls have a slight cold (AGAIN) plus they are getting their incisors in and it makes for rough nights. They did surprisingly well at their grandparents last night though and stayed up later than normal with little to no fits.

  2. I hate when my work schedule gets all thrown off. Love the fact that you are able to do 9 hour days and get out early on Friday. That would be amazing!

    1. I love it too and feel spoiled with my schedule so when it is rocked, I fuss about it. But I really do feel blessed to have a flex schedule.

    1. It was a bad night but a little is carrying over. Sucks when you have that night after night.

  5. It's my first time linking up! Yay! I hope you are able to go to the Bay Area soon! And a trip to Europe is so exciting! I'm going in a few weeks and I can't wait! Which country/countries will you be visiting?

  6. When I did work, it was the same way! I also worked 4 9 hour days and a half day Friday but when a holiday was in there, it always screwed it up!

    That bikini is HOT!

We could also use more date nights...it's been way too long!

    1. So glad I am not the only one with a different work schedule (when you did work, but having kids is definitely WORK!). Date nights are a must and sometimes we are great about it and other times we go months. Need to step our game up.

    1. Ok you need a date night badly. You have to reconnect with your husband! Ha, I have no money either. Daycare is expensive.

    1. I love her bikini so much too. And I saw the top on and she rocks it!! The tantrums need to stop asap. We also get them in the car now because the sun hits their face. I think my car is going to be covered in sunshades any day now because the sun slips through everywhere. I could use a date night by myself too. Treat yourself!

  11. I wish I had a more flexible work schedule. I would love to work 9 hour days and have a half day on Friday to get everything done! That does suck that they change it during the holiday weeks, though... it kinda puts a damper on the fact that it's a holiday week!

    1. Yes it does. I used to look forward to holiday weeks, now they change everything up and it changes my girls schedule too. Oh well.

  12. That's a bummer they make you work 8 hours a day on holiday weeks! I'm new to your blog, so I just want to say "hi" and it sounds like you're doing an amazing job... balancing being a mom to twins, wife and work full time! xo, Kristina

  13. What an annoying work policy! Too bad you couldn't still work 9 hours Tuesday-Thursday and then just work 5 hours instead of 4 on Friday! Lame. High waters are SO BAD. I know you watch the Bachelorette...you know the erectile dysfunction guy (Evan? I think?) did you see how when he sat down his pants rode up and he wasn't wearing socks?! That or he was wearing no-show socks...but I still find those weird on dudes, at least with slacks and dress shoes!

    1. That is what we used to do and then one boss said it was a paperwork nightmare. Sure. Super lame. Haha, I did notice that. And we laughed at it because we have co-workers who do that.

  14. Ohh I hate it when my schedule gets thrown off.. that's been my entire week. Amen to a date night - we so desperately need one! I hope the tantrums calm down so you can still get to go on your trip. Hope today was great!

    1. Today was pretty good. And I really do hope they calm down a bit. Nothing like crazy toddlers to ruin a trip. haha. Hope you are having a great day!

  16. Don't feel bad about getting overwhelmed with the tantrums. We had been going through that really bad about a month ago, and it was stressing me out big time. Plus, I only have one kid, so I can't imagine two. That is cool about your flexible schedule, but definitely weird on weeks like this. Getting excited to see your swim suit.

    1. It is so hard when they throw these tantrums to not stress out and want to crawl in a hole. There has been a lot more wine and scotch in my life this week. I am really hoping my suit is ready today, but no email yet.
