13 Month and Toddler Favorites

My girls are 13 1/2 months now. Crazy how fast time is flying by us. Soon we will be in Mexico (and hopefully the girls will be walking by then) followed by our annual trip to Graeagle in June. We will go from massive amounts of snow (keep it coming in the mountains) to beautiful Tahoe beaches in the summer. I for one, can not wait.

But back to my girls, they are into everything. Exploring, eating new foods and playing all the time. I thought I share with you all my girls current favorites. Some of these have been their favorites for a long time and some of them are newer.

One. Their vintage kitchen continues to be a favorite. The girls are always playing. They are banging the dishes on the stove, opening and closing doors, taking stuff out and putting it back in the doors (fridge, oven, etc). They love this gift.

Two. A fellow twin mom got the girls this ride on elephant and it is a favorite. If the girls are grumpy, put them on the elephant and push them around. If they are happy, do the same. They love riding along on the elephant and we end up pushing them around the house on it. They also love the sounds and the fact that the seat bounces. The elephant gets a lot of use at our house.

Three. This ball tower was a gift from Christmas. The girls love this tower. They will put the balls in top over and over again. And mommy and daddy know ALL the words to the songs and learning buttons. Even the kids (who ranged from 2 to 5) at their birthday party played with this all day.

Four. Our girls love their pacis. Well, Avery LOVES it. Sutton likes it when she sleeps or when she is teething. And these paci clips are key for keeping the paci off the ground. We have tried a few of them and these are the ones we like best.

Five. The rubber blocks are a hit at our house. The girls grandparents got them for Christmas and they love them. They squeak when you squeeze them and the girls love stacking them and knocking them down. Especially when we build them up really high. They also like when we squeeze them and blow the air in their faces.

Six. This play yard has been our life saver. At first, we used it to corral them, but after a rough day, I broke it apart and put sections in the places we wanted to keep them away from. Like in front of the fire (or block the fire place area off if we have a fire going), blocking the kitchen or anywhere we need. The girls love the freedom and can't get into areas that aren't safe or where they shouldn't be.

Seven. The Wubba Nub. Again, our girls love their pacis and nighttime they get their Nubs. They used to carry these everywhere, but now they stay in their cribs. Since it has the animal on the end you can tuck it into a swaddle (when they were younger) or find it easily in the middle of the night.

Eight. These Patagonia jackets are kind of expensive, but so worth it. Our girls had ones at 3 months and now 12 months and they run big. They keep the girls warm, are very durable and so cute.

Nine. These boot socks are awesome. We have these ones and ones that snap (and the ones that snap come with a gripper on the bottom for walkers). These and the moccasins (from freshly picked) are the only things we can keep on the girls feet anymore. They always pull their socks off.

Ten. I have shown this no rinse soap/lotion before, and I am showing it again. We love this stuff. Recently when the girls have blow outs (having them now that they are on a Miralax regimen), this stuff helps get them clean(er) until we can give them a bath. It is great for wiping their faces, necks and bodies in between bath days. LOVE this stuff.

  1. We love those plastic blocks too! That company has some pretty amazing toys and we have a lot of them. I've started using Mustela on the kids and it's great. Emmy has sensitive skin, so it really helps. We have my old kitchen from when I was a kid and both Cam and Emmy love it. It's adorable.

    1. That's good to know. They were a gift from my in-laws and the girls love them. They are really good quality too. I need to check other stuff made by them. So glad the mustela helps. It has been amazing at our house too. I can't believe you still have a kitchen from when you were a child. That is awesome that you could pass it on.

  2. We love those fleece booties (only thing that stays on) and mocs, but I cannot make myself by the freshly picked I get hers at Sweet n Swag. I want the blocks for her and that elephant... I think she would love it, when did yours start liking it?

    1. Oh Sweet n Swag for mocs. Good to know. The Freshly Picked ones are so cute, but expensive. Our girls wore these two pairs for a long time, but they are growing out of them now. The fleece booties are the only thing that stays on my girls as well. They pull all socks off. And headbands too. Haha. My girls just got the elephant for their birthday and they love it already. You can push them on it even when they are smaller. I would go for it. And the blocks are really cute, well made and safe. All pluses.

    1. That is awesome that they still use it. A fellow twin mom got it for us and it is a favorite around our house as well.

    1. Thank you. We have been working on standing skills lately. They were standing a lot and scaling things before they got sick and now they don't want to. So we put toys on the couch or chair and then they stand and play with them. We are working on it daily and increasing their time all the time too. Sutton has been standing more on her own lately, so hopefully they are walking before Mexico. Hope to see an update on your little ones soon.
