Wednesday Confessions

Wednesday, January 27, 2016

It's been awhile since I have done a Wednesday's confessions, so I thought today would be as good of a day as any.

I confess I was pretty excited to have a week with just the girls (and Walter Roo), so I could have more "me" time at night. This translates into girly tv shows, mac n cheese nights and wine. Trust me, I miss my husband (especially with Avery's sleep habits this week), but sometimes its nice to have time apart and miss each other more.

I confess that I bought myself an ombre tunic from Pearl and Monroe even though I am trying to save money for our vacation and boobs. I felt like I needed to spoil myself a bit after having serious mom guilt Monday night. I can't wait til she arrives on my doorstep.

I confess that I made three consultation appointments between now and February 9th to get quotes and options on getting my boobs done. I want to see what I need done (implants vs. lift and implants), the cost and hoping I can get it done prior to my vacation to Mexico. Fingers crossed.

I confess that I couldn't wait to get out the door last night to have sushi with my dear friend who is in town searching for a new house since he is moving back from Las Vegas. I love my lady babies, but I couldn't wait to catch up with my friend. This is my dear friend who lost his grandson two days after he was born and we haven't caught up since September.

I confess that I am very annoyed with political ads on my Pandora stations. Yes I could buy the monthly subscription and never hear ads, but the point is, I HATE political ads. Ugh.

I confess that my daughter is so constipated that she threw up all over herself right before we left for work and daycare this morning because she was grunting so hard. I feel awful for her. Any advice on helping her out? We tried massage, she has a puree of prunes and apples today, she is drinking water by itself and mixed in with her milk. Any other things I can do to help her?

And these are my confessions...

  1. If you do get implants, do you plan on sharing any of the process on your blog? If not, would it be weird for me to ask to e-mail me your thoughts on your experience? I've been very seriously considering it (although I wouldn't do it until after we have a second child) but I am terrified of the whole procedure. I need someone to talk me into it. :) Good luck with your appointments!

    1. I would be more than willing to share the process on my blog. Maybe not the photos, but I could email those to give you the full picture. My friend did that for me so I could get a better idea of it. I would love to share my experience, prior, during and after it. And yes wait until after you have your second child before going into it. I think we are done having children so I feel confident on getting them now. And if years later we decide to have another, she said it won't affect them much. But better to wait if you know you are having another!!

  2. I always love a little me time every once in a while. And it is nice to miss your husband, because then the reunion is so sweet! That tunic is so so cute!

    1. I was hoping I wasn't coming across as being weird that my husband was gone and I wanted me time. So I am glad you know what I am talking about, haha. And I love the tunic. I shouldn't have bought it, but felt like I needed to reward myself for taking care of twins by myself this week. It's the little things.

  3. Greyson has a tendency to get constipated so I started adding a children's probiotic to his bedtime bottle. I think I got it at Costco. It's really helped him be more regular and I noticed his skin issues are also improving (may not be related but it's worth mentioning). Straight up prune juice in a pinch.

Nothing wrong with a little me time...Mac n. Cheese and Jug O'Wine just happen to be the names of my 2 bffs :)

    1. Oh I need to look into children's probiotics. I never thought of that. Is it in the refrigerated section? I gave the girls purees yesterday with prunes and mangos and today they have ones with peaches and pears (both sets have lots of fiber in them).

    2. I bought ours at Costco

      I've also used this one

when they had the stomach flu as it's a bit more concentrated. It's in a powder form and you just add it to their bottles. Easy peasy.

    1. Thank you!!! And I am so excited for Mexico. But we still need to get our girls their passports since last time they were closed. So hopefully next Friday we can because both parents have to be present.

  5. Danielle, I totally agree that a woman should do whatever she wants with her body and especially if it makes her feel more comfortable in her body. That being said, there are some things that some women don't know about implants. About 8 years ago, before my boobs got huge naturally, I was looking at getting implants. Then I came across this article that stated over the course of her life a woman will pay at least $80,000 for her implants...this includes switching them out every 10 year which is recommended because scare tissue can start forming around the implants, special mammograms to be done (since most machines can't see through the implants) and other medical costs or tests. This cost doesn't include if the implants leak or rupture and need to be changed out.

That article was 7 years ago, so I'm sure the costs have gone up.

If you still want to get implants, go for it, safe surgery and enjoy them...but I thought I would give you this info as food for thought.

You are a beautiful woman and mommy either way!

    1. Ouch that is brutal. I know that you have to change them out, but I was told by a friend who just had them done that it is now around 15 or so years. And the changing of them isn't as expensive unless major reconstruction is done because the pockets are already there and done and what not. But I wouldn't doubt it and it is something I will ask the doctors for sure. Thanks for the heads up.

And thank you for your kind words on me as a mommy and woman!

  6. Also, if you are going to have more kids, have them put the implants under the muscle so you can still breastfeed. If you decide to breastfeed.

That's what my friend was told.

  7. I hope all your consults tell you the truth... there's nothing wrong with your boobs! Give your body more time to heal, I think you'll be surprised. :) hugs and love!
